The Essentials of Insane Parenting -- What its all about!
As a parent I know that there are times I could use a good laugh, cry, or just read about something that may give me ideas of my own where parenting is concerned. I find that sometimes reading about what other parents go through or have gone through help me to decide on a path in my life that helps me become a better parent. So, I got together with some friends, both old and new to present this blog to you; other parents who may be in need. Each person will write about whatever they are knowledgeable about, or something they have gone through that they have learned something from. As I begin publishing these articles, I will also be submitting for your reading pleasure, a bio of each of our writers. Please learn from and enjoy our blog... its here for you and your friends, if for nothing else; fun!

The Importance of Sports in Youth
I can not tell you how many times during my work career that I have been grateful for the fact that I played sports growing up. It taught me two important lessons, team work and preparation. It is for those two reasons why I believe every child needs to be exposed to at least one but preferably many sports in their early days of youth.

When bad things happen Part II
Part II
My David is a trooper! Since we found out what was wrong with him, mainly the muscle and bone atrophy, we have called it his “booboo” leg. Perhaps I’m going a bit overboard by saying since LOL, really we stopped saying that when he was about ten, he is now twelve.
Calming your Baby... by our new writer Billie McCord
Throughout the years I've become what I would consider, a very private person. For someone like me, the mere thought of my newborn having a public meltdown makes me want to run and hide. I'd love nothing more than to dip in an out of my local shopping centers somewhat unnoticed.. I'm beginning to realize, however, that there is nothing invisible about a woman with a new baby.

Are We Copacetic, Sunshine?
Driving to work this morning I heard a news story that NASA was looking for the next possible “human conveyance into space.”
Must admit the first thing that popped into my mind was a giant slingshot. I could see it clearly… the handle as big as a hundred tree trunks tied together.. buried in the ground at a tilt. The band would be pulled back taut and a crowd of tiny looking bodies would be huddled together in the center of the pocket all excited and ready to go. Then this big hand would come out of nowhere.. not really attached to any being as far as I could tell… just a floating hand…

Home for the Weekend
- Raise your hand if you have a kid. Now raise your other hand if it’s a teenager. Take a look in a mirror.. both hands above your head in the universal sign of surrender. And I’m right there with you… mine is 15… and a boy. Six feet one inch of pure hormones… and apparently starving hormones because he never stops eating.
Just one bathroom
I only have one bathroom in my house. Yeah. My dad built this as his first foray into construction back in the 70s and I think he was “adding as he went.” What I mean by that is that as he found something construction like he would add it to the house. Takes a lot of money to build a house… and takes twice as much money and “construction like” stuff to build two bathrooms as one. So we got one. And there were four of us. At least now there’s just Sam and me.
Then and Now
Spent the day with my son. And he’s not five anymore. What a difference a decade can make. Kind of feeling a little nostalgic at the moment… though it might be the sangria. I only had one bottle.. no.. not a full size wine bottle… just a single Seagrams Escapes. Very tasty… but I’m a lightweight when it comes to drinking. One glass can leave me all giddy at the sight of a puppy or in full blown tears after a 30 second Hallmark commercial. In any case..at the moment I’m feeling mellow and thinking of my son.. then and now.
